This month proved something we already know to be true, your biggest resource is your community.
This month at FITCI was a demonstration of what a strong business community can look like: companies supporting each other, sharing what they know, and creating opportunities to be seen.
These moments are a reminder that being part of a startup community is about more than having a place to work. It’s about having people to learn from, opportunities to share your expertise, and a network that helps put your company in the room.
There’s something about the “ber” months that makes it feel like the year is shifting into high gear. As we transition out of the slower pace of summer and into a busy fall season, it’s important to lean on your community. September was filled with events that brought us together to learn, connect, and celebrate the companies and people of FITCI. From technical insights to founder stories and community connection, September was a great reminder of what makes FITCI more than just a place to work, it’s a place to learn, connect, and grow!

CFrame Launches CommonFrame on iOS and Web
Android coming soon as CFrame expands its executive coaching and leadership development strategy.
FITCI member CFrame, Inc. has launched CommonFrame on iOS and the web, with Android coming soon. The public launch marks a major milestone in CFrame’s larger strategy to improve human outcomes through deeper longitudinal human data. CommonFrame is the participant-facing foundation of that strategy, giving people direct value from understanding their own experience while creating the structured data needed for broader coaching, organizational, research, and analytical applications.
CommonFrame helps individuals capture how they feel, how they are functioning, and what is happening around them. Over time, those repeated check-ins create a richer picture of the patterns surrounding energy, focus, clarity, engagement, stress, calm, performance, and everyday life. The aim is simple: help people move beyond memory and guesswork to better understand what tends to work for them.
CFrame is entering the market through executive coaching and leadership development. The company is currently running a small-scale executive coaching pilot within the FITCI community and is partnering with additional coaches in the region. CommonFrame is paired with CFrame’s proprietary coaching platform, designed to extend insight between sessions and give coaches and clients a more longitudinal view of change, patterns, and progress.
The launch also advances CFrame’s deeper-data strategy. By making the data useful to the person creating it first, CFrame is building a model in which continued use can produce increasingly rich longitudinal experience data. Under appropriate governance, that foundation can support deeper personal insight, coaching and L&D intelligence, benchmarking, research, enterprise applications, and future AI-enabled data products. We kicked off the month with FITCI Exchange featuring ChemPartner, giving our community an inside look at contract research organizations and what a valuable resource CROs can be to startups and early stage companies.
FITCI’s Guide to Government Contracts panel and networking session, brought together experts to share practical insight for companies interested in entering the government contracting space. The event gave attendees actionable steps they can take when first entering the government contracting space.
Of course, there was plenty of community fun. Coffee Around the World gave members a chance to explore coffees recommended by our global network. We were also lucky to try out some of Fingerboard Farm’s CBD coffee!
The final week of September is Business Appreciation Week in Frederick! We had the pleasure of kicking it off here at Basecamp with the Frederick County Office of Economic Development. We invited ThisTown, CFrame, Blu Zone Bio, and Synolus to talk about their companies, and the importance of being located in Frederick.
