Wellspring Search, LLC, a full-service digital marketing agency specializing in Search Engine Optimization, PPC management and Internet marketing, joined the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc. (FITCI) in September and is poised to double its staff over the next year. The company recently added James Morris as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Morris is a prominent industry figure with more than 15 years’ experience in Open Source CMS deployment and customization. He previously served at one of the largest premium WordPress plug-in providers in the industry, WPMU DEV, and has an impressive track record with clients such as West Virginia University, INBOX International, Woodcraft Supply, LLC, the XOOPS Foundation and ImpressCMS.
Karl Hindle, Managing Partner and Founder of Wellspring Search, says that he is especially pleased to add Morris to the team. “He is well known in the industry for his technical skills. We are incredibly fortunate to add someone of his caliber.” Morris will lead development of Wellspring Search’s enterprise-grade WordPress hosting and security solution, currently in beta, and is responsible for all aspects of technical infrastructure.
Wellspring Search expects to add three more positions in the coming year and is in talks to acquire an Indiana marketing agency as well. Hindle stresses that the key is finding team members with the right mix of skills and dedication to enhance company culture. He shares three guiding principles. “Integrity… we won’t put up with any smoke and mirrors nonsense,” a fact he drives home with an educational video on Wellspring Search’s website exploring “white hat” versus “black hat” private blog networks (PBNs). “Secondly, we provide transparency. We are accountable to each other and our clients. Third, we are committed to delivering results.”
The company has been on a steep upswing since its inception in January 2017, a fact that is not lost on Kathie Callahan Brady, CEO of FITCI. “Wellspring Search is in an enviable position among other startups across the nation because they are debt-free and profitable since day one.” She notes sagely, “Growth is always exciting but it can also introduce instability, especially in an emerging business,” analogous to Maryland’s tasty mascot, the blue crab, shedding one protective shell for the opportunity to grow a larger version. “Being in this environment gives them access to structure and support for solid, sustainable growth that will carry them into the next phase of their evolution.”
Wellspring Search is already looking to add space at FITCI as they expand their roster of 120+ local, national and international clients. The company is Google Analytics Certified.
